Playing for the Panthers
The Panthers Basketball Club competes in the domestic basketball competition at the Coburg Basketball Association (CBA) against other basketball clubs and teams within that association. Panthers players aged from 5 – 19 years of age are placed into teams based on age, gender and skill level. These teams are then entered into the CBA weekly competition, with rankings spanning from Division 1 to Division 5.
In addition, we offer weekly Cub Academy sessions throughout the school term - a pathways program developed designed to introduce young children from 5 to 8 years old to basketball without the need for competition. The program teaches kids the fundamental skills required to play, along with the rules of basketball in a caring, and fun environment.
The Panthers also participate in other associations throughout Melbourne, like the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EJDBA). These teams are teams put together who want to give themselves another challenge against other competitions or are invited to play at a more developed level.
All Panthers players are expected to challenge themselves and continually refine their skills and are encouraged to participate in weekly training sessions and our skills development programs during each season.
